We are planning to move our header data from the usr folder in RFH2 to the message body. What is the expected performance degregation when
a) using XML elements
b) MRM elements (for copybook)
Does anyone have a performance comparison how processing performs using the usr folder elements in RFH2 compared to a custom/propriatary message format? |

If your move your header data into message body area then you will need to parse the message to retrieve "header data", which will perform slower as compared to your existing design. Are you sure you want to do this?
Generic XML will perform better than MRM (CWF, TDS or XML). Please take a look at performance report for WMQI/WBIMB for your platform for exact numbers. _________________ Kiran

Thank you for your response, thats what I assumed too. The "lead architect" in our project decided to go this direction despite my performance degragation warnings. The design indeeds is based on the usage of MRM that further slows down the processing.
But what I need is some tangible data proving the point. If there has been any mearurements done describing the performance impact (i.e. overhead of xx milliseconds, percentage of total processing, limitations of message throughput for a specific platform) thats what I am looking for.
Also any anekdotes an opinions as you said are very helpful |
