Hi

We have WF 3.4 cofigured with 2 systems in the System group on an AIX box.
The database is on a remote database box (on AIX too).

We decided that we need a new System Group rather than 2 systems in the Same group. We got permissions from DB2 group for DataBase table spaces and all the permissions required to create a new configuration.

I deleted the old configuration and started a new one
While i am configuring i am getting this error.

FMC33999E Internal error: 'FmcAssertionException, Condition=*** Assertion failed
in /projects/fmc/drvp/lbld/v340/aix/src/fmczcfnc.cxx(1502): setregid(procGroupI
D, procGroupID) == 0'.
- FMC33920E Error occurred. See /var/fmc/cfgs/FMC1/log/@fmczrt.log.root for mor
e information.

I tried to see the error in @fmczrt.log.root , but that file was non existent..

Can anyone help me with this..

Thanks in advance

Karthik

Unless something has changed, what you are attempting is not possible. There can only be 1 SystemGroup per Domain.

Does that mean a company cannot have more than one System group.
I tried the same thing on my desktop , deleting a system from the system group and later creating a new System group pointing to a new database in the same instance.

It worked . I am not quite sure what i am missing here .
Please give me more details on these concepts so that i have a better
understanding.

Thanks
karthik

A company can have as many system groups as it likes as long as each group points to a new Runtime Database.

There is only on System Group per Domain in the current WF implementation. You can have as many domains as you like each pointing to different runtime DB.

I'm assisting karthik in this issue at our company. Hopefully this explaination will help. We have one physical AIX box to run the WF servers on. We have a different dedicated AIX UDB box to host the one or more runtime databases we want to use. What we are trying to do is create seperate WF servers to run different versions of the FDL objects on. We want to create seperate development, test, stage environments. We need to be able to run different versions of the same template in each environment so we can create releases of our workflow application, to go along with releases of all the applications that it integrates with. Can we do this given the hardware resources we have available to us? If so, how do we do this?

Thanks in advance for all your help...

Paul and Karthik

Unless I am missing something, the answer is to define multiple DOMAINS, each one with its unique SystemGroup, and thus unigue database.

You should be able to do this. Have a seperate WF configuration for each of the environments.

Thanks ratan

What we tried to do was also a new configuration for each of the environments with each configuration pointing to its own runtime database. All the configurations will be on the same AIX box.

Is this the setup you were suggesting?
Please suggest the best way to do this ..

thanks

Yes, that is the way with the resources you have at your disposal.

thanks ratan

that clears most of our doubts

John

I have a doubt when you specified about multiple domains.
How does one specify about a domain in his configuration.

Because during the configuration one is never prompted to enter a Domain name , so how does one specify the domain name etc;

Do we need a seperate file systems for each domain ?

Thanks in advance

Right now there is no concept of multiple domains in workflow.

You cannot specify anything for DOMAIN. A domain is going to remain as domain in your workflow. You got to live with that.

The way I see it the Domain and the System Group are basically the same. The original intent was to have multiple System Groups and to allow all of the creation of instances in any System Group that existed within the domain. It just never got there (FlowMark did this by the way).
