Hi All,
I would like to use the field applIdentityData from the MQMD to identify the type of message. This field is definied as MQCHAR32. I would like to know if the content of this field is converted. For instance if the message is transported from iSeries to Windows NT.
If you've got a multiplatform environment already, why not run a quick test?
It will take much less time than asking here and waiting for a reply. And you'll know for sure, rather than having to guess or hoping someone will tell you the right thing. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.
I have two systems both using EBCDIC (Z/OS and ISeries). That's why I thought I could not do a quick test myself.
I forgot that I also had MQControl from contact admin running on a w2k platform. When the conversion would take place automatically I could read the applIdentityData.
I created a small test application to test this. And.... The applIdentityData is converted automatically.
Sorry to bother you all with this unnecessary question,
