Yes, I did my search here as the first responder suggested but I, sadly, could not find what I was looking for. |
Despite several members of my newly formed fan club giving you concrete suggestions? |
I certainly appreciate their responses/suggestions. I was just putting it out there before someone asks me if I did my search. That's all. I am certainly not trying to flame anyone here or be disrespectful. I am sorry if I hurt anyone's feelings. I am sure we are all professionals here and that we can understand my point of view. |

To fix my morbid curiosity I searched the forum for "move messages from one queue to another" and got 5 hits for MA01. What search term(s) did you use & should I complain to the admin the indexing is broken?

Ok, I'll bite. What were you trying to convey with "Isn't your "answer" mighty helpful to others!!! If you don't want to answer why don't you just take your privileged seat in the sidelines?"

I don't have any.

I'm not. Ask anyone.

We might; I wait to be clarified. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I appreciate your time on the forums ... helping out.
I searched particularly for "Unix Shell script move messages" ... and I am resting my case. Thank you. |

Bummer. The search term "script move messages" gives you this as the second hit. Yours gives a page full of unhelpful posts. Many of them mine. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Searching is an art and a science.
It is often better to ask a question, as if you were asking a person... 'how to move a message from one mq queue to another?' Or, 'is there a script to move an mq message from one queue to another?'
From the results of the search, you can add additional qualifiers, like 'unix script'. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

I agree. Sadly, if there aren't any keywords/tags to identify a particular question, one cannot almost land on that exact post. But yes, I have learned that point over good deal of time. |

Again, searching is an art and science.
Your request was for a precise solution to moving messages from one queue to another - it had to be a UNIX shell script - no alternatives whatsoever. This alone limited search responses.
It is often better to search for what you want accomplished, not how. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Please do not SPAM threads that are OLD and where you have nothing to actually contribute to the discussion.

smdavies99, I have noted the activity of the individual concerned - 5 posts with zero content - and suspect a sleeping spammer, so I'll be monitoring. That individual will off course get an eye-catcher email and see this post so, shayanjameel08, if you are not a spammer please do not make content-free posts and read THIS POST, and if you are a spammer I suggest you quietly slink off and not return, thank you. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |
