Why don't you create your own post rather than hijack a two year old thread. Or go to class to find out. |
Well, I thought it was good forum manner to use the threads that are there instead of creating extra redundant threads.
And thank you, I went to class. I am IBM certified already.
Anyway... Thank you for helpful and constructive post. |
Don't put too much stock in your certification. You didn't pay enough attention in class. For newly created EG, the flow will start when deployed. For an EG with existing flow, the runstate will be the same after deployment as before, means if the flow was stopped and you deploy, the flow will remain stopped after deployment. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

Did you read the various options discussed in this thread?
Did you just dismiss them out of hand? If so why?
If not, what is different about your situation than the one originally raised in this topic? _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

Until the first time a flow is deployed to production through automated processes and the start state was not updated to be "automatic" and the developer had checked it in as "manual"... |

Could be a case of job security. Paid to write the functionality , then paid to fix it. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

Good to see a requirement carried through to release of the feature.
WMB 8.0.0.1 should be along soon - then time to seriously look at using it, or to look at using it seriously... |

It's not that I'm measuring the fullness of the glass.
I'm looking for the beartraps that will go off when I try to *drink* from it... |

I've told you about that bar before. Find somewhere else to drink... _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

You don't even *remember* that bar, much less half the cab ride home. |

Yes, I read all the posts.
No, I did't dismiss them as "solutions". I already figured those out before comming here. I was just wondering if there is a "right" way to do it, not just a "work around".
I can even give you some more work arounds that noone mentioned yet, that also would work for non-MQ based flows, when deploying the first time:
- Manipulate your input node, to read from an empty directory, or create an empty queue to read from etc. Deploy the flow, then stop it. Then change back the configuration of the input node to read correctly, and deploy the node again, and the stopped state will be preserved.
This way you wont get any error log overflow by inhibiting queues and you can do it with files etc too. I would still only call it a workaround though, not a great solution. However it seems version 8 fixes it according to mqjeff's post above. |
