Has your DB2 database been created with the right CCSID?

Check the InfoCenter for Support for Unicode in databases.

My DB2 properties show that it supports UTF-8 and CCSID is 1208. I am just not able to see Chinese ccharacters in the control center but inserting/retreiving is working perfectly fine now using esql in compute node.

You might get better results if you use the DB2 Data Studio for this. IT is a free download from IBM.

If that fails then it might be time for a PMR against DB2
