Hi Friends,
I am trying to insert chinese characters into DB2 but DB2 doesnt get updated correctly and chinese chars are shown as boxes. Is there a way we can insert chinese/japanese characters into DB2? _________________ ----------------------

Has your DB2 database been created with the right CCSID? _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions.
My DB2 properties show that it supports UTF-8 and CCSID is 1208. I am just not able to see Chinese ccharacters in the control center but inserting/retreiving is working perfectly fine now using esql in compute node. _________________ ----------------------

You might get better results if you use the DB2 Data Studio for this. IT is a free download from IBM.
If that fails then it might be time for a PMR against DB2 _________________ WMQ User since 1999
