Because WMQ does not have crystal balls! Think of why you have to differentiate a channel type, and if you don't know after thinking about it for a while, look in the Info Centre for DEFINE CHANNEL. _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

When you attempt to start a sender channel, the MCA attempts to open the transmission queue named in the channel definition. That is the (queue manager) object that it can't open. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Aside from the error you get in trying to setup your channel correctly you do realize that each of your qmgrs needs to run its listener on a different port, yes? _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Explained differently: If both qmgrs are in the same localhost, then you will need to have unique (port) and listener pair.
A sender channel specifies CONNAME(ipaddress(port)). At the receiving end of the channel, there needs to be a listener listening on the (port) number specified in the sender channel definition. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
