application mqm-06-00-02-00 WebSphere MQ for Sun Solaris - U806616

I have been removing fixpack 6.0.2.2 from my dev/QA machines and installing fixpack 6.0.2.5. The install went fine and I have not seen any negative outcome from doing that. Should I have left fixpack 2? Am I going to get an unwelcomed surprise down the road?

Yes.

No.

You just made more work for yourself than was necessary.

Typically when dealing with fixes to MQ you make sure of the following:
  1. commit current fix level
  2. install next level in uncommitted state : will allow rollback
  3. verify fix ...

So not removing the previous fix makes a rollback easier if you run into problems... Enjoy
