Queue manager failed. Early investigation report given is indicating memory over-write by application causing this. We have C/C++ application and the only change recently done is releasing a service with a upgrade compiler(4.2 --> 5.7)

Anyone had similar issues and will like to share any experience or indicators...

If you'd planned to do it six months ago, you might have avoided this problem.

It seems unlikely that an application could overwrite any memory and affect the qmgr.

Unless you're running the app in trusted mode - using fastpath bindings?

It seems more likely that the 'zifShutdownOnForce' indicates that someone told the qmgr to shut down forcefully.

What was the error message in the log associated with the FDC being thrown?

What other error messages were in the log before the FDC was thrown?

Are there other Headers in the FDC file?

The internal errors in the log are telling you to go look at your FDC file....

Component :- zifShutdownOnForce

Any component beginning zif is only used when an app is running fast-bound, so it is possible for an app to crash the qmgr.

Change the bindings type to NORMAL and try again. This is what IBM support will tell you to do before taking any further action to investigate.
