After doing an upgrade to MQ 6.0, the queue manager had all sorts of problems. It was 'missing' many queues, despite the fact the files were still in the correct place on the hard drive. They didn't show up in Explorer or in runmqsc.
I was able to get the queue manager running by deleting the objects it was complaining about, and then running strmqm -c to recreate the objects.
The only thing I can think of is permissions on the files, but I didn't see anything while inspecting that would cause this.
Any clue what might cause this behavior? I didn't see any FDC files...

I agree it appears to be similar.
Actually, I should be more specific about what was missing.
Mostly, it was SYSTEM default objects.
I couldn't create a listener (using explorer) since the SYSTEM.DEFAULT.TCP.LISTENER (typing from memory, so the name may not be 100%) object did not exist.
In addition, all local queues and channels appear to have functionally disppeared.
I do have a saveqmgr image, but I have to manually go in and delete each object before it can be recreated.

questions:-
(1) upgraded from which version
(2) straight upgrade w/o uninstall or uninstall then install
