Hello,
I have a problem with one of my channel.
I have one Queuemanager (A) in a HP-UX cluster and one (B) on an other HP-UX machiine. Both machines run MQ 5.2. The cluster made a switch because there was broken hardware. After that switch all other channel from a lot of machines to machine A become the status running on their own. Only this one from machine B to machine A does not start by himself and I have to start him manuell. I don't got a message in the erorfiles. The configuration of that cannel is the same like all other. What can I do? What is wrong?

Thanks for answers
Doris

When you manually start the channel, what status is the channel in?

Thie seqnum was my first idea. But seqnum is ok.

When I start the channel manuell, the status is running. Before I start, there is no status.

Could it be that your channel is not triggered and all the others are ?
Check the definitions of the xmitq and compare!
Enjoy

Or could it be the transmission queue is triggered but the depth was > 1 and trigger type is FIRST?

Sorry, but there is no difference between this and other xmit queues and I think there is no trigger.

Why only think? Display the XMITQ definition and this will confirm it for you.

If it isn't triggered then some manual intervention would be needed, either a manual start command or a start command in a script.

Of course if you have already manually started the channel then it will be hard to tell now

Is it working OK now?

Yes, it works correct, but if the cluster will switch again I will have the same problem (we tried the switch already)

Let's go back to your original post.

Is that really true? 5.2 has been out of support for ages now. I'd say an upgrade is in order. I'm surprised no one else brought this up in the discussion.

Yes, it is true. And I know this problem. But I didn't think, the version is so bad and I have no chance to make an update by now.
Anyhow, all! the other channel on these machines are starting on their own. And there is no difference in the configuration.
