Hi All,

I am working on ICS and looks like it does the same functinality as that of Message Broker. Can some one tell me the differences between these two like when we use MB and when we use ICS. If some one already raised this question, pls provide me with the link.

Thank you,

If you are using ICS, why do you want to move to MB

Integration adapters can be used with WAS,MB or ICS.
There is not much of a diffrence among these with any adapters.

I am working with crossworlds adapters and with MB,
The adapters and Connectors simply run on the Installed files and need not be deployed to any brokers.

I think,If you have ICS,You do not need to do anything if you are moving to MB,simply start the adapter as a stand alone service.

Hope this helps you a little

ICS and MB are both Integration Brokers, Ideally both can be used for Business Integration.

But there are some specific functionality for each brokers. even though byworkaround, can be achieved by either ones.

But philosocial debate raises as - ICS is for Synchronous Mode of Communication whereas MB is for ASynchronous.

If your Hub is expecting a high volume and huge messages, Fire & forget mode....MB shud be the right choice.

this might give some startup..

Hi ,

There is one more point I would like to add on to the difference b/w ICS and MB.

We can use MB for routing purposes . For example , if I want to route data to some other server it can be done .This can be achieved thru route and label nodes . But we cant achieve using ICS.

you can use a router collab and dynamically call subcollabs depending on the message header...
