Hi,
I want to know has anybody used Rational XDE to model Message Flows?
If yes, then how to do it?
Is Rational XDE integrable with WBIMB Toolkit?

Does Rational XDE run on Eclipse 2.1?

If so, and only if so, it can be integrated with the Toolkit.

If you do a search here for "UML", you may find some previous discussions on using UML to model flows and sets.

The WBI Modeller and the WSAD Integration Edition can produce models that can be used to generate flows and sets.

The Rational XDE that I have on my machine uses eclipse 2.0.1. Will it do?
There are only two posts on UML in this forum, but none of them make any statement regarding how to use XDE for message flow modelling.
WBI Modeller can be used in this aspect.
Do you think then, that, Rational XDE is a wrong choice to model WBIMB Msg Flows?

It might.

I didn't say they would. I said they would talk about modelling flows and sets using UML. XDE is just a way to build UML.

Personally, I am not thoroughly convinced of the usefulness of models, particuarly as a code generation tool, in general.

I also consider the WBIMB flows to be models, and so I see little use in modelling a model before modeling it for real.

I have already completed development.. and now trying to build some UML Based model from already exisisting Msg Flows..!! It is just for the sake of some other technical people, who are not aware of WBIMB but aware of UML, to understand the Msg Processing Flow.

Ah.

Well, activity diagrams and spreadsheets that lay out field level transformations is what I would do.
