Has anyone written their own Message Catalogs. Have you documented the procedure. Is it shareable.

Have you tried it?
and more importantly,
Do you have a pressing need to do this hat you would like to share with us?

I have been meaning to try this out since V2.1 days but I have never got round to it.

I have this but I was looking for a guide.

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmbhelp/v6r1m0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/as04521_.htm

Guess as soon as I find some bandwidth it will be forth coming. I hate creating something when it already exist!!

Thanks for the link.
Now I remember why I did think that it was certainly a nice to have.
If you use these you (IMHO) significantly decrease your portability of your Message Flows. I recently had enough problems getting a WMQ Message exit to compile properly on Solaris.
Frankly, compiling & Linking .dll's & .so's are sometimes a real PITA at times.

Back on Topic.
There are many error Standard messages that way well meet your requirements. I wouldn't bother with custom ones unless there is a real show stopping requirement to do so.
