I am planning to take the test. However IBM web site is indicating that the test is going to be withdrawn by Jun30 th and there is no new test planned.
1. What does this mean. Does this mean Workflow is no longer going to be worth for one to pursue?
2. Should i wait few more days to see if there goint to be an updated test?

I assume that there will be a new test for Process Server that will be taking the place of the current MQWF test. _________________ John McDonald

John:
Is IBM NOT going to release any more new versions of Workflow. I heard lot of customers are trying to migrate from workflow to process server. Is IBM selling MQ Workflow at all or did it stop selling the product? Any idea what the feature of workflow product is? |

Same doubts as expressed by Vennela.
1. Is MQ Workflow out of market?
2. Has anyone migrated from MQ Workflow to process server?
3. Is so does the migration need any changes to the application, are is it just install, depoly FDL and you are back in business sort. Please share.
4. What about the licensing costs? If you have MQ Workflow and would like to migrate to process server, does MQ Workflow license cover it?
I wish it would..
We are at MQ Workflow 3.5 and would like to mirate to 3.6. however if process server is going to be the case then we can migrate to the process server as well. |

2. Maybe somebody did. But is it successful is the question.
3. A lot of changes to the application. Workflow and WPS are completely two different products except they have the same underlying concept (atleast in terms of workflow based applications).
1 and 4 are for IBM to answer. Most likely the license has to be bought for WPS no matter what. But there might be considreations. |

I agree with Venny on 3) above.
The products are sufficiently different that I would call it "re-write" not conversion. _________________ John McDonald

Thanks for the comments.
A re-write would send jitters and I wish there is clearn migration.
If anyone happened to contact IBM, please share your comments |

Here is the scoop:
3.5 workflow will be out of support : Aprl 2007 ( from IBM Web site)
3.6 will be out of support sometime in 2008 and users will be asked to move to process server. |

Hello Guru's,
What about " BPEl " was told by many that this is the next version of WF 3.6.
Righjt now we are at 3.5 and plan for 3.6..
But Instead of migrating to 3.6..We are planning to go for BPEl..which is 3.7 I Guess..
If Process Server is the Next Version of MQ WF 3.6..Then would it be 3.8!!
Pls correct me..
Can we consider
BPEL as 3.7 of MQWF...and WPS as 3.8 version of MQWF ???? |

You are very confused.
Process Server is the future IBM Workflow Product.
BPEL is the standard way to describe a business process and is used by Process Server and other vendor's workflow engines. _________________ John McDonald
