To all,
How can I see all the open defects that are currently open on Message Broker 8 regarding Applications and Libraries. I have the same question for the version 8 platform altogether also.
One of my team mates said that Applications and Libraries are unstable and immature and that an IBM person, unnamed, said they weren't to be used.
Is this true?
Has there been any official communication or anything indicating that the use of Applications and Libraries is not recommended? Also, has there been any communication supporting the use or recommending their use?
Thanks,

I think that the information you have is well out of date.
Yes there were issues with Apps & Libraries but personally since 8.0.0.3 was released I have not seen any new ones.
You really should dig deeper and find out who said what and WHEN. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

There is the question of why did we need yet another way to use the message broker, when untrained developers struggle with the basics anyway... _________________ Well, I don't think there is any question about it. It can only be attributable to human error. This sort of thing has cropped up before, and it has always been due to human error. |

As of 8.0.0.3 , apps and libraries seem quite stable. Im hoping by 8004 or 8005 I will be able to say the same for subflows, promoted properties and the debugger! |

What kind of problems are you having with subflows? We use subflows extensively. Unfortunately they are built as message flows but deployed as subflows. They do give warnings in v8x. |

Regarding keeping up to date on latest broker issues, suggest you go here to sign up for email notices: http://www-01.ibm.com/software/support/einfo.html?acss=danl_214_email
Regarding subflows, we found they were more stable within Applications than when trying to share them across broker projects. Their problems with promoted properties were mostly solved with FP3, except that we had to play some remove-replace games with MQOutput nodes with promoted properties in subflows when we went to FP3.
Regarding the debugger, see if our APAR IC96566 applies. |
