Can't upgrade our MQ 5.2 TO 5.3 On our Win2k(SP2) server.
The install immediately bombs and doesn't generate an error log.
Could this be a permissions problem. I'm performing the Install under the local administrator account. Server is not part of a Domain. _________________ Scott A. Boucher

I can't find the details of the problem, but I remember something about an error with a SupportPac being previously installed. You're supposed to set an environment variable to get around it. When I find the details, I'll post them here.

ERROR DESCRIPTION:
During install of version 5.3 for MQSeries on Windows a popup
comes up saying that Support Pack MC74 is installed and MUST
be uninstalled before this install will complete. This can
happen even if MC74 is NOT installed on the system. It is
because another support pack is installed when the registry
is checked. Just the occurance of SupportPacs Applied will
cause the error.
LOCAL FIX:
The simplist way around this is to run (in the root dir of the
cd) MQPARMS AMQCHECKMSCS=""
PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The problem will be fixed in any future release of IBM Websphere
MQ for Windows. It will also be fixed in any future refresh of
IBM Websphere MQ for Windows V5.3.
