Try what out? Examples from the Intercommunication guide? Some clusters? Exactly what are you asking here?

How are you getting 5 hosts from 4 servers? If you're using VM what has that got to do with anything WMQ? Likewise what's the difference (in WMQ terms) between Windows & Linux? The answer to this question depends a lot on if you have access to Windows, Linux, both or neither.

Guide you in what? Learning WMQ? The advice given here still holds.
The only real difference in WMQ is between z/OS, AS/400 (or iSeries if you prefer) and all other platforms. Even then the difference is more structual than anything else. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

If you want one additional tip, sort out point to point connections before you try clustering. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

As you have started learning MQ so as Vitor has suggested.. first hit the basic manuals/redbook/infocenter and then try implementing them one by one on your local whether its on windows/linux operating system.
Then you can make your local as server (say on windows), to which multiple applications are connecting as client ( say client from linux ). Then you can move to cluster and complex setups. _________________ *Life will beat you down, you need to decide to fight back or leave it. |

Welcome to the wonderful world of MQ !
To be pedantic, its "MQSeries", not "MQseries". This term is no longer used by IBM to refer to the messaging product. Its been officially known as "WebSphere MQ" for many years, since V5.3 came out. Use "MQ" in your discussions and you will be safe. _________________ Glenn |

Cluster is a Group of linked Computer which are connected to Each other but yet They Work as a Single Computer its call Cluster. |
This is not the definition of an MQ cluster.
Briefly, an MQ Cluster is a a group of queue managers that host multiple instances of the same queue. This is a very different definition. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.
