The team i am working with installed the MQ explorer ver 7 on windows and they were getting the error AMQ4036
The Server(UNix) where MQ sever is running. I have added the userID of that user to the group and provided all the necessary permission to the queue manager to connect and other queue
as MQEXPLOER.RELPLY and all .
We came to know the team had not installed the MQ client .Now they have installed the MQ client too .But still the error remains .
Please provide any more clues to get the issue resolved . |

No. That's why it's MCAUser not MCAGroup. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I didn't ask about quantity. Did the message narrative mention something like "you are not authorized..."?
Did you look at the error-logs to see who/what was not authorized? _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

If you have administrative authority on the Unix queue manager, you might consider looking the queue manager parameter "AUTHOREV". I have had great success in enabling this, and then finding useful information in SYSTEM.ADMIN.QMGR.EVENT after the user tries the operation again.
There is extra special security trickiness if your Windows users are logged in with Windows domain accounts. |

Hi,
I have a similar kind of issue.
I have MQ Explorer version 7.0 in windows and I'm trying to the MQ Server version 7.0.1 in Unix machine. I am not able to connect to the queue manager.
The error message says Queue manager not available for connection. The queue manager is up and running. I do not know where it went wrong.
I'm using default SERVER CONN channel. I tried connecting with MCA user as 'mqm' and without MCA user as well. But in vain.
Is there any issue with CCSID which the client is not able to recognize with the UNIX server ?
could anybody help me in this regards ?
Thanks in advance. |

It's not the CCSID. Verify the following:
1. The SVRCONN channel you are trying to use exists in the queue manager.
2. Can you ping the queue manager's server from where MQExplorer is installed?
3. If the answer to Q2 is yes, can you telnet into the queue manager from MQExplorer is installed? _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

1.I am not using any exists in the channel. I am trying to connect with the default SVRCONN channel.
2. Yes. I can ping the queue manager' server machine.
3. I am not able to telnet to the queue manager machine. It says connection to machine failed at the port 23.
One extra info i would like to add is when i am trying to connect to the queue manager from explorer i am getting 4043 (MQRCCF_DATA_TOO_LARGE) error. |

I didn't ask if you were using exits, I asked if the channel exists!

Which means it's reachable...

Try using the actual port the queue manager is listening on

And the Info Centre says what in regard to that RC? The fact that you receive an error code means you are connecting, despite your first post stating that you could not... _________________ It's puzzling, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this before...and it's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys. |

A bigger pardon for the confusion.
Yes the channel exists.
I have created a listener say for example 1514 and i am connecting to the same port only. Even then i 'm getting the error 4043. |
