Hello folks,
Our current environment is configured as follow:
Server1 has QueueManager1 on AIX
Server2 has QueueManager2 on AIX

We are not using MQ cluster , now on Server1, we have an application which run on WAS and put into a queue on QueueManager1.

My question is , how can the application put into QueueManger2 on Server2 once Queue Manager1 on Server1 is not available? How can I configure my application to do this? Do I need to install MQ client on the machine I am running the server on? ,,, Please advice the best approach to go about this... thanks much

Sue

Which version of WAS? There are differences between v5 & v6.

Look through the forum for CCDT and WAS for past discussions on how you might achieve this with your version.

Maybe you don't want this at all.

Maybe you want the entire WAS Server1 to stop and fail if the Queue Manager 1 is not available.

Maybe you want the entire WAS Server1 to move to the other machine as well, along with the queue manager.

But maybe you do want a CCDT.

It's much easier on V6. You'll find a wealth of useful discussion in here.
