Hello everybody,

I have a problem when I try to install the MQ v 5.3 on Solaris 9, I have not enought space in the filesystem of /opt/mqm, so I create a symbolic link to other directory in a filesystem with space, but the next error appear during the installation:

The following files are already installed on the system and are being
used by another package:
* /opt/mqm

* - conflict with a file which does not belong to any package.
Do you want to install these conflicting files [y,n,?,q] ?

If I answer that yes The software is installed in /opt/mqm directly and not in the symbolic link that I had created, this disappear,

Anyone can help me,

Thanks,

Is there anything preventing you from increasing the size of the /opt/mqm filesystem instead of trying to create a symbolic link.

Have you read the WMQ Quick Beginnings for Solaris Guide?

If you reply no to that prompt and then yes to the next prompt which says something like 'Do you wish to continue with the installation ?' then pkgadd does not replace the symbolic link with the directory defined in the package and all will be well.
