It could probably be done that they could both coexist. It wouldn't be supported, and they wouldn't run at the same time.
But a 5.3 could be installed, the registry hand edited, and then a 6 installed in a different location. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general.

I think a define "machine" is inplace here
If have WebSphere MQ 5.2, 5.3 and 6.0 running concurrently on my "machine" ...
my "machine" is a T42 laptop with VMWare
I know this is not "supported", but works for me.
Also the the new pSeries hardware like p690 can be partitioned into single or double CPU partinions and they could run seperate instances and versions of MQ. I guess that would be "supported" _________________ Michael
