Hi!
I have a problem with the said supportpac... My MQclient and queue manager are on different networks separated by firewall... When I installed MA7K on the client, it would not start, the error seen on the server is there is no cipher specification for remote channel. The channel used is SSL-enabled. Client is on a W2k server machine and server is on OS/390. Does MA7K work with SSL over a firewall? Hope you can help me. If you need more info, just tell me. thank you. javascript:emoticon(' ') |

How is ma7k connecting to the server? (mqserver variable, channel table, channel parms in the setup.ini?). If you're using the MQSERVER variable, that doesn't support SSL channels. If you're using a channel table with a CLNTCONN definition for SSL, try that table with amqsgetc to see if that will connect. if you're specifying parms in setup.ini, post them here. _________________ -wayne |

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm using MQSERVER variable. What's puzzling here is that in our development MQClient, it works fine. our devel client & queue manager are in the same network. javascript:emoticon(' ') |

You can't enable SSL using MQSERVER variable.
You can't talk to an SSL enabled channel without using SSL. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

The only way to use ma7k with SSL channels today is via a client channel table. The next release will support SSL channels via parms in the setup.ini file. _________________ -wayne |
