Hi All,

I have question about HACMP AIX -MQ set up.I am planning to do clustering.

We have 2 servers for production and 1 for development at my work place(AIX HACMP).

We are palnning to set up clustering with other 4 servers on different OS
which have 2 servres/porduction and 2 servers/qa & dev. in a different location.

Can any body suggest a basic set up how to draw a plan to set up clustering for balancing and failover.

PS* No one is yet using MQ..we are planning to use MQ for our appliactions.

I like to use Visio to draw my clustering plans.

Not true; many of us use MQ daily.

(After Peter's reply, I couldn't resist )

My Quest, the point is you are asking a very broad question - something that a company would typically ask (hire!) a consultant for.

Why is this URGENT?!? (You are not going to get better or faster answers just because you put that in the title)

Narrow down your question to specifics. Did you read the MQ cluster manual? Or the Support Pack for HACMP?

You are rite..they are not tryin to hire..

So coming to my question I am putting my plan here..just say whether my vision is poor or it makes some sense..

I am planning to do MQ clustering on the 2 prod..servers at my place(hacmp env..) ..lets say A1,B1 QMGRS

The same @ the other side 2 servers (diff. location) in HP-UX..service guard...A2,B2 QMGRS

And the communication will be thru channels...(A1) to (A2)

My goal is to if A1 downs then B1 should provide failover...snd wish the same when A2 fails B2 should act..

I hope with a little MQ knowledge I tried my level best to get your suggestions..appreciate your remarks

This is a project which is aimed at reducing the risk of failure as the other side servers are directly connected to the clients applications..
