I got the following during the installation ..........

Quote:
Errors occurred during the installation.

Unresolved dependency: MDAC Prerequisite has an unresolved
dependency on Microsoft Data Access Component Version 2.7 SP1.

Unresolved dependency: Java Messaging Prerequisite has an
unresolved dependency on WebSphere MQ Version 5.3 Java Messaging
Component.

I got the MDAC from Micrsoft and that is solved.
How do I resolve the Java Messaging Prerequisite ??

any other installation tips are welcome .........

You could have ignored the MDAC prerequiste...

You need to install the Java Messaging component of WebSphere MQ. This is an option that is available through choosing "Custom" when running the MQ installer, instead of "Standard".

thanks for quick reply Jeff.

I wonder what happens if Java Messaging component of WebSphere MQ is not installed. I found from my team mate that they have another machine with Msg Broker installed without the above said messaging component installed and its running fine. they have the latest WMQ CSD.

Is this real big concern going forward ?

The latest CSD may or may not have installed it for them.

Certain components of the Broker product may or may not need the Java Messaging classes - but I thought that they all did.

As you have seen, the Installer won't let you install components that require the Java API if the Java API isn't installed.
