I'm here
Unfortunately, I'm only familiar with the MQI interface for Java, not JMS... Anyone else have an answer for Jeff?

I'm here, too...
Well, I haven't done that myself, but the book (Using Java) says, that the mqmd.MsgType is mapped to the (provider specific) JMS attribute JMS_IBM_MsgType. I found it in Chapter 12:
Quote: |
JMS_IBM_MsgType to MQMD MsgType: Value maps directly onto MQMD
MsgType. If the application has not set an explicit value of JMS_IBM_MsgType,
then a default value is used. This default value is determined as follows:
– If JMSReplyTo is set to an MQSeries queue destination, MSGType is set to the
value MQMT_REQUEST
– If JMSReplyTo is not set, or is set to anything other than an MQSeries queue
destination, MsgType is set to the value MQMT_DATAGRAM

Does that help!?
Stefan
