Hi All,

This sounds interesting.

I have created a local queue in Websphere MQ 5.3

Some application is using the queue to put messages. Currently I find that there are 15 messages.

But when you try to view them you dont find any messages exist. The MQExplorer shows blank. Application programs say that the queue is empty and throws a 2033 error.

I wonder what possible species of message can lead to this behaviour.

Have you read up on message transactionality?

No. Seems to have been stumped by your question.

Could you please guide me?

These messages are still in a transaction. They have been put but not committed or got but not committed.

This is documented, expected behavior.

Could it be that the messages have expired?

Expired messages will remain on the queue and will show up as queue depth in MQExplorer until they are accessed (like when you try to view them in MQExplorer), then they will be deleted.
