I am running MQ 5.3.0.5 on AIX 5.2 and my aix box crashed because of memory issues. I am also running a WBIMB broker V5 on it.

When I tried to bring the queue manager up, it comes up with the following error:

"WebSphere MQ was unable to display an error message 893"
"AMQ8146: Websphere MQ queue manager not available"

ANY IDEAS? Pls HELP.

Hi,
Any FDC's generated? Please post the header, if any.

How does the filesystem look? If the filesystem is full, you will have to endup freeing some space to start the queue manager.

The filesystem looks good. There are tons of FDC's created. We have been having issues with this queue manager/ box all day today!

Also, one thing that i noticed is that there is this one queue that is pretty much FULL - as in abt 2 gigs worth of data - but my app users need that data - so i cannot just smoke it ...

??? Now what?

Could you post the FDC header?

Check the FDC's and look for the ProbeID. Search here or on IBM site for the ProbeID and that will lead you to some hints.

Hi QueenBee,

I have had this happen on Solaris and I have some really bad news ........... You are going to need to delete and re-create the queue manager.

If you chase it through IBM's support site, you will find out that the queue manager has corrupted its own log file. There is a solution but IBM says it will only work for v5.2.

Hopefully, you have a back of your MQSC objects and OAM settings.

Regards,
Roger Lacroix
