Hi,

I use version 5.0 of the Message Brokers Toolkit for webshpere studio.

For each Broker Archives file (aka bar files), I create, I name them like BAR_v1.0.1 to signify that this is version 1.0.1 of the BAR file. When I deploy it into oan execution group, how do I know that in the execution group it has version 1.0.1 deployed? As I tedn to forget what version of the bar file I have deployed in each execution group.

Any ideas to help me?

Thanks.

Another solution is to use a passthrough node somewhere in your flow; set its string property to your version (or even an RCS/SCCS tag if you're using a VCS) and investigate the value in the user trace.

FWIW, runtime versioning is a focus area for the broker dev team.

A few months back I had submitted a formal request for this - the ability to know what version of a message flow is running, without adding trace nodes or the like. Ideally, right clicking on it, or being able to run a command.....

Thanks for all the suggestion...

Can this somehow work?

The use of publish/subscribe function in broker? Like for each time I deploy somehow I can publish the deployment with the version number?

Help? Advice? Anything?

The broker itself will publish that a deployment has occurred.

But I don't think there's anyway to include your version number in that, other than in the name of the message flows&sets - as I doubt the name of the bar file is part of it.

Oh...

How about web services in Broker? What's my chances there?
Possible?

But it still means that for each time I deploy a bar file, I have to remember to change a node in the flow to reflect the version of the lfow I'm deploying. Just like the passthrough node suggestion.
