Due to a production problem with an SSL cert I found out that on some platforms and/or releases of GSKIT you need (mandatory) to specify a password expiry period on the keydatabase/keystore when you create it.
As a user of the Ikeyman GUI that surprised me because I never saw that.

First it looked that only gsk6cmd and gsk7cmd required the expiry period, but the GUI (gsk6ikm, gsk7ikm or ikeyman) not. Well that was what I was thinking because I only used the gskit6/7 on Windows (before MQ v6 we used the gskit that was shipped with HTTPserver) and I never saw an expiry period. Also our Unix people did not see this (using gsk6ikm shipped with MQ CSD). However, IBM send me some screenprints from gskit7 that was shipped with MQ v6 beta (version 7.0.3.15) and that contains an expiry period. Because I have problems with installing mq v6 (because of gskit and jvm) I found an Ikeyman (not a gsk7xxx program) in the mq v6 download file (MSI\gskit\jre\bin) and that shows no expiry period (version 7.0.3.2).
So confusion everywhere .

Who can help me and give more info about GSKIT versions on the Unix and Windows platforms.

On windows: gskit is not supplied with MQ
On UNIX platforms: gskit is supplied with MQ

This is with MQ 5.3. That's why we are using the GSKIT that is shipped with HTTP server for Windows (or you can use the one with WAS). Working fine. The confusion is about which version offers the password expiry.
With MQ v6 GSKIT7 is shipped Unix and Windows).
