The way I understand it is that it is a network setup where you can give different classes of service to different machines. So, some machines throughput might be throttled at 64k while others have fast bandwidth. Usually this wll be done with fancy routers, so a hardware setup.

But it's still all TCP/IP?

Then MQ doesn't care.

Unless it decides to interrupt or "load balance" connections. Then MQ does care, and likely won't play well.
