Hi,

We are just starting to work with Japanese characters in WMQI 2.1.

I am translating XML data to MRM (cobol).

On MVS, the COBOL field is defined as:
03 OUT-CUST-NAME PIC G(40) USAGE DISPLAY-1.

How can I define that in an MRM?

Thanks!

I'm not a COBOL expert, but I would create a dummy copybook and use the COBOL importer to do the hard work for me.

Define all the fields in the MRm as characters..

Please note that if you define a field with length as 10 then you can hold 10 single bytes or 5 double bytes.

The parser will simmply parse the message and nothing will happen to the Japanese characters.
