Hello there,
I am very new to this site as well as the technology. I just started learning MQSeries. I have few general questions , and hope you can just help answering them.
What exactly are the rule of the MQSeries admin other than installation? Can someone give an example of environment that uses MQSeries and where MQSeries fits?

thanks in advance
Sami

HI Sami,

The rule of the MQ Admin might be different from Company to Company.
To give a few general examples what a MQ Admins tasks are:

-Architectural considerations
-Version Management
-Giving support to developers
-Installing
-Keeping it running
-Monitoring
-Message tracking
-Documentation
-etc...

If you need an example on what MQ is doing, or what it can be used for, you should consider to visit the Technical introduction to WebSphereMQ. Also you might want to read about Middleware and EAI.
Roughly said all what MQ does is to transport data from one place to another. How you want to use it, and what of it features you want/need to use is always up to you and should be mainly driven by your companies needs.

My 0.02 Cents

cheers

Sebastian

Hi Sami,
Welcome to the world of WebSphere MQ (fomerly known as MQSeries).
If you haven't checked Overview of WebSphere MQ already, please do. This will give you a better idea of what WMQ is and what we can do with it.

Good Luck.
