Never mind. The manual says "
You cannot use the following correlation names in the expression of any mapping for a Mapping, Extract, Warehouse, DataInsert, DataUpdate, or DataDelete node:
Environment
Root
Body
Properties
DesintationList
ExceptionList
LocalEnvironment
InputRoot
InputBody
InputProperties
InputDestinationList
InputExceptionList
InputLocalEnvironment
OutputRoot
OutputDestinationList
OutputExceptionList
OuputLocalEnvironment.

I was hoping to replace a lot of my compute nodes with DataInsert, Update, etc nodes and remove as much ESQL as possible. Aside from hoping for an easier migration when and if ESQL is replaced by java, can anyone think of other advantages to using DataInsert, Update nodes. I like them because there is no code to maintain, it's all drag and drop. _________________ Mikhail Malamud

I think it's premature to think that when/if ESQL gets replaced by Java that the current DataInsert, etc. nodes will be more portable.
In otherwords, if they get rid of ESQL, everything else is likely to need to get "migrated" as well.
But if you really don't like ESQL, and would rather write lots and lots of .getNextChild() strings, then go ahead and use java procedures. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |
