Is it normal to have an 'elevated' OPPROCS count on an xmitq. I did the dis qs and saw some applications connected. Just wanted to know if this is normal. When I say 'elevated' OPPROCS, I mean 8. All other xmitqs are at 1, which i am assuming is the channel connection

Shouldn't all xmitqs have only 1 opprocs?

What are all the processes that are keeping it open?
I think it is OK to have 8.

Its a program that reads and writes to our queues - but it doens't read nor write ot the xmitq. that is why i am confused as to why it is showing up in the opprocs

It depends on queue resolution.

Remember programs writing to remote queues ultimately write to an Xmitq. In the same way when you look at reply to queues they ultimately resolve to either a local (usage normal) queue on your qmgr or an xmitq queue on your local qmgr....

Enjoy

The applications might be using QMGR aliases to put to remote queues which means you will see the XMITQ open.
