Hi,
I am new to MQSI and learning MQSI 2.1. I am now studying all the versions of MQSI from 1.0 to 2.1.
Can any one tell me how we can create message sets in MQSI 1.0. In MQSI 2.1 we create them using the control center provided at the client side.
By when I am stuying MQSI 1.0 I never came across any Control Center but heard about Neon Formatter.
So some one please let me know how do we create a Message in MQSI 1.0. And can some one please give me a brief description of a Business Scenario where we use MQSI.
Please contact me at vikashrk@gmail.com
Thanks,
Vikash |

I would be surprised if there are any customers out there still using 1.0 ,
at least it should be 1.1
Control Center is a 2.x thing
in 1.x you had the neon formatter, the neon rules and a single threaded rules engine.
if you want to learn 'message sets' for 1.0 (that term was not invented at the time...) look at the NEON formatter. _________________ Michael

Thanks Michel,
I do not use MQSI 1.x series. I am presently using WMQI 2.1
When I am reading MQSI 1.0 docs I didnt hear about the message sets, but heard abt NEON Formatter only, so me a bit confused abt the two.
Thanks for the information.
Could you please give me an brief explination exactly Business Scenario in which cases we use the MQSI. I could not get any realtime scenarios where we use this tool.
If possible can you give me realtime scenario where we use this.
U can also mail me at vikashrk@gmail.com
Thanks,

MQSI grew out of NEONet 3.2 - strictly Rules and Formatter. It wasn't until WMQI 2.1 that message sets and message flows came to be. MQSI went unsupported years ago.
As far as business uses, it works great for cross platform transactions where business logic or transformation needs to be applied realtime or batch. You probably wouldn't use it if no logic or transformation were required.... WebsphereMQ provides all the transportation you need too, to almost any platform you could think of..... |
