I have imported users into runtime and are getting workitems in standard client. But when I try to use webclient with these users, I am getting following error:

What would be the problem??

Maybe you are logging onto the wrong client.
Maybe your web client is pointing to the wrong runtime

Well...you are right.
Here is what I did.... I changed the configuration in workflow(JDR to FMC) and I took the users and modified the fdl file....replaced to fit to FMC config and imported into runtime.

I noticed that whenever I import the fdl of another config file, even after modifications, i am getting some or other problem with the clients.

So I reinstalled and configured. Now everything is fine
