Hi,
Can anyone give me the specific details for creating an Oracle broker config database?
I have the manuals for creating the equivalent in DB2, ie use wizard, accept defaults, bind library alter database heap size. I asked the DBA to create a 'default' database in Oracle, I'm now running into issues when deploying...
Responses appreciated,

Sorry I should have made myself more clear.
My ConfigMgr database is hosted by DB2, running fine.
Am I writing in thinking the Broker database ie, the data source I name in the mqsicreatebroker command may be Oracle? This is the database I'm having trouble with.

Yes, you can use Oracle for broker databases.
The link I posted will tell you what versions are supported.
Can you be more specific about "trouble"? _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

The errors I'm seeing when attempting a deploy:
Quote: |
Database error: ODBC return code '-1'.
|
Quote: |
'[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-22275: invalid LOB locator specified '
|
Having spoken to the DBA I believe this is an issue with the way the database has been created. The user doesn't have the ability to create LOB's - I'm guessing?
The database version is Oracle10g, I will be discussing the fact that this is currently unsupported with the client today and looking to regress to 9i release2.
As an aside, does anybody have a script or clear instruction set for creating the Broker's runtime database on Oracle?
TIA

OK, some more information:
WBIMBv5 FixPak 4 (5.0.1.4)
Win2003 Server
DB2v8.2
Broker and ConfigMgr on same server.
Broker datbase is using Oracle 9i release2 on HP-UX 1111 64bit.
ConfigMgr and Broker both created with no problems, also, both started with no problems.
Using a remote toolkit, create domain connection and connect to ConfigMgr - works fine.
Add new broker to broker domain, deploy is succesfully initiated.
However following errors appear in the broker server's event log:
Quote: |
( DEVBKR01.$SYS_mqsi ) Exception caught whilst loading file 'C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere
Business Integration Message Brokers\bin\imbdfjps.lil', the broker will operate with reduced
capability.
The message broker caught an exception whilst loading the implementation file 'C:\Program
Files\IBM\WebSphere Business Integration Message Brokers\bin\imbdfjps.lil'. The broker will
continue to operate but with reduced capabilities. See the following messages for details of
the error.
See your system log for other messages associated with this one to establish and correct the
cause of the problem.
( DEVBKR01.$SYS_mqsi ) Database statement 'INSERT INTO WBIADMIN.BSUBSCRIPTIONS ( BrokerUUID
, ClientId , SubscriptionId , Topic , SubPoint , Filter , Expiration , Creation , Options ,
SubInfo ) VALUES( ? , ? , ? , ? , ? , null , ? , ? , 0 , ?)' could not be executed.
A message flow node attempted to execute a database statement. However, the database
returned an error when executing the statement 'INSERT INTO WBIADMIN.BSUBSCRIPTIONS (
BrokerUUID , ClientId , SubscriptionId , Topic , SubPoint , Filter , Expiration , Creation ,
Options , SubInfo ) VALUES( ? , ? , ? , ? , ? , null , ? , ? , 0 , ?)'.
If necessary, correct the message flow and redeploy the message broker.
( DEVBKR01.$SYS_mqsi ) Database error: ODBC return code '-1'.
The message broker encountered an error whilst executing a database operation. The ODBC
return code was '-1'. See the following messages for information obtained from the database
pertaining to this error.
Use the following messages to determine the cause of the error. This is likely to be such
things as incorrect datasource or table names. Then correct either the database or message
broker configuration.
( DEVBKR01.$SYS_mqsi ) Database error: SQL State 'HY000'; Native Error Code '22275'; Error
Text '[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-22275: invalid LOB locator specified '.
The error has the following diagnostic information: SQL State 'HY000'
SQL Native Error Code '22275' SQL Error Text '[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]ORA-22275:
invalid LOB locator specified '
This message may be accompanied by other messages describing the effect on the message
broker itself. Use the reason identified in this message with the accompanying messages to
determine the cause of the error. |
Any help much appreciated,
Pete |

I can't say whether this is a bug or environment problem, but I think you should contact IBM support. |
