exactly. That's described in detail on page 4 in the usage.

that would be nice

I have updated the MS Word Document of Sample Queue Manager

to reflect updates to the layout as from samples given to me using very long Queue names did not improve readability of the original document.

Added hyperlinks to objects in the ACL summary so you can ctrl click it and go to the object definition itself.

MS03 input is now supported, so that extends the use of MQDocument to all platforms supporting MS03.

Still looking forward to receiving some MAKEDEF z/OS output.

I have started the work on making MQDocument work with MQSC Client (aka MO72)

This will extend the reach of MQDocument to any platform you can reach with MO71 and MO72 today.
Also this will allow you to run MQDocument from a central location an collect the information without deploying the MQDocument code to all servers.

There is one downside to this: MQ Security information is not accessible via MQSC commands, so you have to live without that when running in MQSC Client mode.

MQDocument now integrates with MO72, I have run tests from Windows and Solaris using MQSC Client.

many thanks to Paul Clarke, the author of MO71/MO72 (and much more) who gave me great support and ran successful tests to access a z/OS Queuemanager and generate documentation using MQDocument!

Michael,

Is MQDocument able to handle MAKEDEF as well as SAVEAMGR? We have queue managers on z/OS as well as distributed.

MQDocument can now handle MAKEDEF / JCL output for z/OS!

To make MQDocument available to more users I decided to change the pricing on the Contractor Named User and Corporate Named User Licenses.

Also as for popular demand prices are now also available in GBP and USD, still you are free to choose any currency

For Contractor Named User License, the old price was EUR 199, the new prices are: EUR 99, GBP 69, USD 119

For Corporate Named User License, the old price was EUR 249, the new prices are: EUR 199, GBP 139, USD 239

More information on 'usage' of license types can be found in the updated: MQDocument product brochure

With great pride and thanks to my customers (without them no bills get paid!):

I can announce my company has reached the Advanced IBM business partner status
by MQDocument's qualification for IBM Solution Connection and ServerProven for IBM

v1.06 of MQDocument can now also handle:
- regular MQSC files , so you can document your new installation settings before implementation
- straight output from:
Code:
DISPLAY QMGR ALL
DISPLAY QUEUE(*) ALL
DISPLAY CHANNEL(*) ALL
DISPLAY NAMELIST(*) ALL
DISPLAY PROCESS(*) ALL
DISPLAY AUTHINFO(*) ALL

enabling documentation of any Queuemanager on any platform.

In the MQArchitect Q&A a requirement was identified to extend MQDocument's capability to run 'scheduled' or 'timed' and send the output via MQ to a central place, at least thats how I interpreted:
lex_talionis wrote:
how could mqdocument be automated to capture mq object information and publish to html on a recurring time-set basis?

in the latest release of MQDocument you will be able to specify a queue and optionally a queueManager on the MQDocument command
so the generated file is put to that queue.
If you set-up that queue as a remote queue to a central queuemanager you can collect the files centrally.

on Windows you could schedule this to run using the AT command or on Unix using a cron job.

I am looking into the possibility to specify a -runAT hh:mm parameter,
so you could configure a V6 SERVICE object to run MQDocument on a daily basis and send the output to a central place.

In addtion to this modification I have also added the option for a 'savecopy' with date and time options,
which will be inserted into the 'copy' filename, so you have complete audit trail of each time mqdocument was run.
Code:
-savecopy yyyyMMddHHmm results in a copy of QMGRA.SNAPHOT.XML as QMGRA.yyyyMMddHHmm.SNAPSHOT.XML
or -savecopy yyyyddMM     results in a copy of QMGRA.SNAPHOT.XML as QMGRA.yyyyddMM.SNAPSHOT.XML

This will enable you to more easily track changes to your configuration.

Another modification related to MQSC files you have stored, they could already been converted using MQDocument, but also added the command and object synonym list to mqdocument, so it now also understands:
Code:
def ql(TEST) as DEFINE QLOCAL(TEST)
alt ql(TEST) put(enabled) as ALTER QLOCAL(TEST) PUT(enabled)

and so you will be able to generate documentation from your existing MQSC files.
