Hi
We are concidering to move storage of persistent messages to a different DASD then we use today.
What considerations have to be taken and where can I find a guide to help me get startet?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Regards
EB

Look in the Sstem Admin manual, Queue Manager configuration file qm.ini.

Generally, all you need to do is change the LogPath attribute.

For example, if you have the default cofiguration for qmgr QM1, some of the entries in the file will look like:

Quote:
Log:
LogPath=/var/mqm/log/NG1/

Just change this to the path to the new log directory. After doing so, make sure that the access permissions to the new log path match the permissions on the old path.

The qmgr must be stopped when you do this.

Except I think that the only people who use DASD are z/OS people.

Does the QM.INI work for z/OS?

DASD is just an old-fashioned IBMer's way of saying disk.

I know what DASD means. (Well, I know what it *is*, I don't know what the acronym stands for).

I was just concerned that EB got an answer that did not apply to his/her environment.

Sorry jeff, what I meant was that some IBM-type people in distributed support say DASD when they mean disk, i.e. their mainframe roots are showing!

Anyway, just goes to show that it would be good if people put the platform, WMQ release and maint level on the question they ask.
