Hi, a question about licenses. I have MQ 5.3 installed and running of a few HP UX servers - all fully licensed (at least paid for). The trouble is that if I look at /opt/mqm/ I don't see any license directory on all but one of my servers.

Everything is working fine, I'm just alarmed that I don't see the license directory

Is this normal?
Thanks
Mike

Installation instructions
  1. Download mqs531hp.zip to a temporary directory.
  2. Change to that directory.
  3. Type unzip mqs531hp.zip and press Enter to uncompress the file.
  4. Before beginning the installation, refer to amqcac05.pdf.
  5. Run ./mqlicense.sh to launch the license agreement.
  6. Change directory to hpux11.
  7. Run swinstall -s mqs530.v11 to begin the installation.

Are you sure you performed Step 5 on all of your servers?

Not sure... it was installed by someone else - I just look after the mess.

What would the impacts be if it wasn't run (license.sh)

Perhaps your unix admins just copied and pasted /opt/mqm from one server to many others and one of them somehow had the license accepted.

WMQ does not do any runtime licence checking, so the system will continue to run.

In the end it comes down to whether you have paid for the licenses.
