Is it possible to migrate a message flow in mqsi 2.1 to wbim 5.0 that has a sendmail plugin node or do I have to rip out the sendmail part and reconstruct after converting the flow to 5.0?

It's been a while since I migrated my message flows but we didn't have any problems with the sendmail plugin. I didn't have to do anything special, everything worked fine.
The only thing I recall is that there is parm in the plugin that we were not using in 2.1 but 5.0 required me to populate a value (I just used a dummy value).
Sorry can't be more specific, my XP box is dead at the moment (waiting for a service tech) so I can't go look what the parm was. |

Well... When I migrate a flow from 2.1 to 5.0 the sendmail node is unusable. It also blows up the 5.0 sendmail node somehow....
I get an error with the 5.0 node after migrating a 2.1 node with a sendmail node in it.
My error:
BIP0899E Cannot add subflow sendmailplugin.msgnode
The migration creates a sendmailplugin.msgnode flow. I think I am going to have to remove the sendmail nodes before running them through the export and migrating that flow. Then add the node back in the WBIM 5.0 control center.

I encountered a similar problem a few weeks back, when I migrated some 2.1 flows to WBIMB 5.0 (running on AIX with CSD04).
Not too difficult to resolve though...
Download the latest version of the Sendmail Plug-In from here:
http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=171&uid=swg24000600&loc=en_US&cs=utf-8&lang=en
Install the tooling plugin on the Windows workstation/server where you will be running the WBIMB Toolkit - copy the 5.0 version of SupportPacs.zip to a temp directory and unzip it, then copy the SupportPacs directory to <WBIMB-root>/eclipse/plugins. Shutdown and restart the WBIMB Toolkit, run the Update Manager - the plugin should now be listed in the "available node list" in the Broker Admin Perspective.
Import the 2.1 flow.
Delete the original Sendmail node (make a note of the Properties first).
( I seem to remember having to manually delete some Sendmail.* entries under the Message Flow Project at this point, to get rid of all references to the original node? )
Now "drag and drop" the new plugin onto the flow, wire it up, set the properties and rebuild the Message Flow Project.
Install the plugin "lil" file on the broker server (as described in the SupportPac .pdf), then stop and re-start the broker.
You should now be able to create a bar file containing the flow and deploy it successfully to the broker.
Not exactly a straightforward migration I agree, but manageable if you've only got a few flows that use the sendmail node...
Regards,
Nick. |

Thanks Nick. That was my latest plan of attack. Nice to feel validated.
Luckily I only have a few flows with this issue and those flows reference one subflow with the sendmail node.
