I recently ran across the following quote in a paper written by one of the well-known industry consulting groups:

From a WSF/MOM interoperability perspective, the ESB alternatives are short-term, stopgap solutions. The leading MOM vendors are adding inherent support for the WSF to their MOM protocols. For example, the latest versions of WebSphere MQ and SonicMQ can expose any MOM topic or queue as a web service, without the need for any third-party gateway product.

Hopefully, I'm not reading too much into this statementment, but...

The ability to expose MQ queues as web services could be extremely useful as we design and implement our ESB which I consider to be a blend of MOM and WSF.

I am also wondering if the use of the term "topic" imples MQ V6 will support some sort of Pub/Sub natively without the need for a "Support Pack".

In short, where can I find out more about the features that IBM may be included in Websphere MQ V6.

Oh, and how far out is MQ V6 in terms of a release date?

Thanks!

Well, CSD08 of MQ v5.3 includes the Support Pack out of the box...

And there's rumors of some sort of HTTP gateway product, above and beyond MQIPT.

Don't be suprised if some called WebSphere WebServices appears based on existing code/tech.
(WebSphere App Server, MQ, Java, JMS, WSDL, XML, XSLT, SOAP, DB2, etc.)
IBM has the code base to basically throw together the functionality without huge investments.
IBM has recognized the need for additional out of the box functionality to support WebServices in a more standardized product driven way from some of the presentations I saw at a conference a month ago or so.
You should be seeing the release documents for V6 in the four months.

Yes, the MQ pub/sub broker is included in V6.
