What are the environmnet variables need to be set if java app is connecting to server on other machine through client connection?

CLASSPATH and anything else?

Client and Server are on separate Unix boxes.

That's it.

But within the program you have to specify the hostname channel and port number using the MQEnvironment class.

If you are using JMS the connection setup is part of your [Queue|Topic]ConnectionFactory.
