Hi All,
We are trying to deploy a bar file of size (approx > 800k). While deploying the execution group goes down with the following error message,
BIP1039I: Deploying BAR file 'D:\GRPDATA\xferdata\WBIMB_Deployment/ITRADE_001.ba
r' to broker 'BRTZ8937' (execution group 'EG_16671_ITrade_01') ...
BIP1520I: Deploy operations successfully initiated.
The Configuration Manager has processed the deploy request and initiated the dep
loy of configuration data to the following brokers. Active brokers: BRTZ8937 . D
eleted brokers: .
Open the Event Log Editor to check the outcome of the operations. There will be
a separate set of log messages for each broker.
BIP1040I: Waiting '300' second(s) for reply to deploy request for deploy Id 'e9f
34aa5-0201-0000-0080-a067f94632a9' ...
BIP1402S: Unexpected exception in Configuration Manager MRMManager class getEntr
y method; exception text: 'java.lang.NullPointerException'.
An exception was caught by the Configuration Manager MRMManager class getEntry m
ethod. The exception text is: java.lang.NullPointerException.
Retry the operation. If the exception still occurs, turn on Configuration Manag
er tracing to capture details of the exception, and contact your IBM support cen
ter.
Feel nothing wrong with the bar file because it deploys perfectly fine on Windows and one of the Unix environments. It fails on AIX environment.
Is the any optimum bar file size? No of Message Flows / Message Sets in a bar file?
Any suggestions?
Regards,

Hi,
Have you tried seperating all the flows/sets into seperate bar files and see if any of the individual ones causes this error? |

Try to deploy an empty bar file (no contents) to the AIX server. If this fails to work you know this has nothing to do with the size.
When I start getting java null pointer exceptions on any software my first thought is to restart the software. In this case the error is coming from the Configuration Manager not the Broker.
Also go look at the application logs on the configuration manager. _________________ Patrick Goodhart

It might also be possible that the mq routes between CM and Broker are not correct. Try starting the channels in both directions before the deploy. _________________ Jan Fluitsma
