permission problem on AIX

I have made the user part of mqm group on AIX 5.3 box and when i issue dspmq command it gives me an error

13 - 'Permission denied' from /var/mqm/mqs.ini
AMQ6090: WebSphere MQ was unable to display an error message FFFFFFFF.

Please let me know where i am making the mistake.

Well AMQ6090 means MQ was unable to display the actual error message.

Have you checked the permissions/ownership of the mqs.ini file?

Also have a look at the permissions/ownership of your /usr/mqm/lib directory and the files in it.

What happens when the user attempts to execute runmqsc?
