hey folks,

I have heard rumors of WMQ future having sort of two branches, one Java based and the other remaining like 5.3. But I don't know.

We all know that every product version has it's own lifetime during which it will be supported. Then we are forced to upgrade.

1) Does anyone know anything about WMQ beyond version 5.3.* ? ( a version 6.0 perhaps? )

2) What are some WMQ Resources you folks been using to "roadmap" your WMQ future plans? (IBM Conferences? IBM Labs? IBM Sales Reps? MQ Training classes? non-ibm websites?)

3) Does anyone else feel like they're inside the "sandbox", not know what's going on outside? (99.99% of this website seems to be about issues with past and current versions, ie: things already inside the sandbox )

4) Do I have to pay "just to know" WMQ future? (I've already paid for past and current WMQ products!!! )

If you are in (or near) the UK - attend the MQ UK user group - IBM regularly talk about MQ futures - but tend not to put anything in writing until formally announced. Next meeting 10th March IBM Bedfont Lakes

The transaction and messaging conference always has a general session where they talk about the future of the product. They throw out a disclaimer that nothing is guaranteed, and they then tell you some of the features that they are looking at adding into the next release (and beyond) of the product.
