2 questions:

I have some of my Unix 5.3 qmgrs that show ALTDATE and ALTTIME on the QMGR object changing. Some have it a year or more back. But a couple that I looked at were changing and within 10 minutes of current.

What would do this?

#2 on some of my Unix machines I get a copy of my qm.ini out there with a name like: qm.ini.20050213.030548.234216
I think this is when the box was rebooted and the queue manager started out of rc.local (AIX).

What is creating that file?

TIA
Tom

I seem to remember a similar question being asked a while ago. Turned out to some form of MQ Monitoring software.,

Cheers,

Thanks Ron. That was the one I was thinking of. I just couldn't get the right search words to find it.

Cheers,

thanks for the info about Patrol. I've never fully understood it.

What about the Queue Manger object and it's alter date/time.
Guessing at Patrol here as well?

If you look at a QM's properties in MQExplorer, and then click cancel when you leave the pop up box, the alt date/time is not changed.

When you click OK to leave the pop up properties box, the alt date time gets changed, whether you actually changed anything or not. All MQ objects' properies accessed in MQ Explorer act this way. Isn't it a great "feature"?
