We need to configure a new production server that will house our MQ Server. Until we cut-over though, this new server will have a temp IP. At cut-over time, we'll bring down the current production server and re-ip the new one. Standard stuff...
However, the folks that handle our MQ installations, claim that you MUST install MQ with the permanent IP the server will have. You can't install MQ and then change the server's IP address.
Is there truth to this? Seems odd to me, but I'm not an MQ admin, I'm "just" the developer...
Anyone have any advice on the best way to proceed?
Thanks... _________________ Leigh Kendall |

The only dependancies on a queue manager having some IP address or another is with external channel definitions.
So MQ won't notice the IP address changing. But I'd stop and start all channels when you switch. _________________ I am *not* the model of the modern major general. |

lkendall:
You may have to reset your channel sequence numbers... |
